ESASC is the Earth Sphere Alliance’s largest and most visible fist in space. Rather than being tied down to a fixed asteroid fortress or other such stationary facility, the command center for the ESA’s space operations is the massive mobile fortress Barge, nearly half the size of a colony. This gigantic vessel acts as, essentially, a mobile spacedock, capable of servicing, refueling, and refitting many lesser vessels. While well-armed, and well able to absorb damage due to it’s immense size, Barge is not designed for direct front-line combat, and thus goes nowhere without a formidable escort force.

Most visiting officers humor the somewhat eccentric admiral of the fleet, as he has been known to stub his cigar out on people who annoy him.

In addition to the listed forces, this fleet always maintains a number of Taurus Cruisers for rapid deployment of interception forces against incoming opponents. They are also often used for running dispatches, and thus the number available will vary at any particular time.
