Hudson Point was originally devised by the Earth Sphere Alliance as a final fallback point if, in some desperate situation, both of its major headquarters in North America had fallen to enemy action. The installation is totally underwater near the center of Hudson Bay in Canada, originally disguised as a civilian research station – this cover was blown during the Guild’s invasion of North America, although the deep-sea base was never captured. Since then, the installation has changed purposes several times as part of the Earth Union’s global realignment and consolidation of military forces, and is presently employed as a mobility testing facility for development of amphibious GN-powered weapons.

The layout of the installation consists of two parallel main buildings connected by a central hub, with several smaller structures that are free-standing in the immediate vicinity. Mobile weapons are deployed from hangars in the northern block via large moon pool-type docks, while the southern block contains infrastructure and other provisions, including the command center, power plant, and communications faculties. Missile launchers, defaulting their warheads to “torpedo mode”, stipple the lake bed in the immediate area to provide for local defense against other marine targets, and the surrounding area is heavily booby-trapped using sensor-tripped GN mines to provide for a less passive defense as well as for use during combat trials of prototype weapons.
