Situated nearly dead center of the Arabian peninsula, Bar-Kemal Limited’s Khurais resource extraction base is its newest such operation, and is designed around wholly different principles regarding the defense of the shipping terminal and well infrastructure.

While just as important as any of the company’s other large exploitation centers, Khurais appears at first glance to be an entirely civil installation with no military assets whatsoever. The giant complex is a blistering array of piping and open-air works compounds, with a central “spine” of heat exchangers and hydrocarbon condensers linking different parts of the base’s nebulous facilities. Similar to other large-scale extraction operations, Khurais has a very large shipping terminal where oil and other minerals are packaged and sent west to Egypt via train. Only an electrified fence forms the perimeter of the base, with token warning signs positioned to denote the complex as private property.
