Situated far out in the Algerian desert, the Insalah base serves as a hub of transportation from resources brought down from mines in the rich Taidemait Plateau nearby. Simultaneously, because of the base’s remote location with hundreds of miles of bleak, inhospitable wasteland on all sides, it is the site of a large detention center for political prisoners, something the Atlantic Federation seems to have no shortage of.

The base is formed longitudinally around the rail line leading from Suez to Dakar, with a thick defensive wall built in a relatively circular fashion around the base’s perimeter; the defensive emplacements are focused around the entrances where the rails pass through, and a few are positioned strategically near the prison for “security purposes.” Though it is reasonably well defended, the base’s unhardened hangars and depot seem to make for an attractive target – its remoteness and the ease of spotting incoming units are its best defenses.

Present: A recent attack by Earth Federation troops has ravaged the base and transferred it’s ownership. The base has large craters in various locations due to heavy beam weapons fire, and it’s static defenses have mostly been destroyed.

However the base itself didn’t survive much longer, an attack by Kale Armistad’s Vultures as well as the Wing Zero contributed to the ultimate end of the base.
