Placed in the expanses of flatlands between the Cascades and Rocky Mountains, Fort MacAllister is the Earth Union’s center of military operations in western Canada, and was a newly constructed base in the late UC 220s. The base is named after the late Gavin MacAllister, an Earth Sphere Alliance mobile suit squad leader who was killed during the final assault on the Guild’s Geryon fortress to the southeast.

As with many modern Earth Union bases, Fort MacAllister has a fairly benign appearance of a military air base, with the proverbial (and literal) “big guns” kept tucked out of sight. The concourse is an overall rectangular shape, with a multiple runway airfield positioned in the southern portions and a number of warehouses and supply buildings to the north. A large administrative building with a trio of high-rise structures sprouts from the northern end, including the base’s command center as well as its sophisticated sensor arrays that keep watch over the plains between the mountains, as well as providing an excellent view for optical scanning. A low perimeter wall runs around the base’s main concourse, although this is primarily a security arrangement to prevent flooding during snow melts in spring. Defensive gun positions are installed around the perimeter in retractable pedestal mounts, and numerous panels in the airfield complex house vertically-oriented missile launchers. Mobile suit hangars exist around the northern end of the airfields, allowing for embarked units to be taxied out onto the tarmac and sent up with little downtime, as well as to facilitate easy landings for damaged mobile suits.
