With the fall of Cape Town, Dakar is the Atlantic Federation’s main Navy base on the east side of the Atlantic. The massive port facility occupies a whole third of the entire peninsula, with large-scale dredging carried out to allow high-displacement vessels like the Doritea aircraft carrier to be serviced. The base itself rings the dock yard, forming an angular U-shape with the port in the center. The south and west sides of the base front up against the city of Dakar itself, with the east side facing out into lonely expanses of desert. As a result, most of the defenses are clustered around that part of the installation, though the entrance to the harbor is heavily mined.

Due to the longitudinal placement of the airfield, aircraft landing from the west fly right above the tall buildings in the city of Dakar, making for a rather harrowing experience on certain days. Likewise, civilian boating, finishing and recreation has been somewhat disrupted by the countless mines bobbing about offshore.

Dakar is the western terminus of the Atlantic Federation’s railway line connecting Lake Victoria, Suez, and intermediate locations.
