Artemis Base has been built mostly into a mountain. The mountain for the most part has been honey combed with tunnels and chambers. But most the base itself has been but in various chambers deep underneath the mountain for protection. On the outside of the mountain is what looks like a major city that has been abandoned. The city begins on the flat area that surrounds the mountain. This area of the city is nothing but ruins and debris but as the city climbs the mountain it begins to become less of a ruin and starts to look like an actual city. Most of the buildings are intact. The city ends about a quarter of the way up the mountain.

The mobile suit hangers currently installed on the base all have elevators nearby that lead to the surface at various parts in the city and the mountainside. Those hangers also have access to the rest of the base through tunnels. All the exits and entrances to the base are camouflaged. There are also tunnels set up for future mobile suit hangers as well. They are currently plugged with a concrete slug so as to prevent forces from using those exits and entrances. The hangers also have a linear catapult to launch flying mobile suits up through a shaft.

Found all throughout the city and the mountainside are sites that are designed for future weapons batteries. There also several sites constructed for further expansions in the sub-orbital missile launchers.

Deep inside the inside the mountain one can find the command center and also the factories as well as the numerous generators needed to power the large installation. The mass driver is hidden at the base of the mountain, underground. Its cover moves away when something is ready to launch and then replaces itself when nothing is ready to launch.
