The Kazakhyzsky Military District is one of the Human Reform League’s most crucially important bases, and is essentially a city unto itself in terms of its gargantuan size. The sprawling complex occupies miles on miles of Kazakhstan’s desert steppes, and is easily the most advanced installation controlled by the Human Reform League’s western front. Security is also exceedingly tight, and anything not broadcasting the proper League identification is blasted on sight from miles away.
Firstly, the Kazakhyzsky base is the Human Reform League’s primary mobile suit production complex, with enormous industrial complexes built in hardened shelters below the base concourse that continuously churn out Tierens. Recently, additional faculties have begun assembling the very modern Ahead as well, though the GN Drives are imported from elsewhere. Mobile suits built at Kazakhysky are distributed all over League territorial holdings.
Secondly, it is also the site of the League’s major spaceport, the Baikonur Kosmoport. Over a dozen HLV launch silos are arranged in a honeycomb pattern near the center of the base, with only the tips of the heavily armored vehicles poking up above ground level thanks to their entrenched pads. Deep trenches radiate away from the complex which carry exhaust from the vehicles during launch; they are easily wide enough to accommodate mobile suits and are often used as shortcuts between the underground base structures when launches are not taking place. Mooring towers nearby allow the League’s GN Drive-equipped battleships to touch down safely for resupply and be fitted with boosters to return to space.
The base itself has a very solid appearance about it, with sloping perimeter walls in a staggered arrangement brandishing all manners of defensive emplacements. The GN Beam Cannons are positioned on full-rotation pedestal mounts that have a commanding view of the compass directions of the base circumference. The tall pedestals are also each fitted with machine gun positions, and many more such turrets stipple the top of the beam ablative wall. Cannon blockhouses exist at regular intervals, and enormous artillery rocket launchers are situated near the center of the base to provide long-range bombardment. A trench network with many revetments exists both outside the wall and inside, allowing mobile suits to mount a versatile defense against all kinds of enemies amid changing combat conditions.
Present: Though it suffered an assault from the Atlantic Federation mobile suit; Exia, the Kazakhyzsky Military District was able to repel the mobile suit, with only moderate losses.
