Rogachevo Defense Base is one of the most remote installations in the Earth Union when one excludes the Antarctic holdings, and has gone through a number of iterations as a military base over the decades. Unlike many of the more “specifically-designed” Human Reform League bases, Rogachevo had actually become larger since the takeover by the Earth Union, and today serves a variety of purpose to Union operations north of the Arctic Circle.

The base is positioned on the southern side of the Matochkin Strait from which an artificial harbor has been excavated and secured via concrete jetties. Of the original League construction only the airfield and command facility remains – a new mobile suit hangar and repair complex has been installed to the south in a line of reinforced shelters, including facilities to refuel GN drives, while shipping and cargo transfer buildings and warehouses are positioned along the inner edge of the dock complex. Most of the base’s defensive emplacements are installed along the dock facility’s perimeter in ubiquitous Union retractable mounts, but a number of batteries are positioned in the craggy cliffs behind the base, providing with a high angle across the strait and over the tops of the base’s structures.

Rogachevo was formerly the site of a special prison complex administered by the League’s Committee for State Security, but the complex was shut down in the early UC 230s, and now only serves a brig of sorts for the Union’s own who have violated military justice and regulations.
