Built in a fashion similar to the older Puerto Morelos Island, Höfn Island is an off-shore platform fitted with a giant X-band radar, responsible for early warning of approaching enemies from the Atlantic towards the Arctic Circle, as well as a relay between North America and Europe. It is the newest of the Alliance’s off-shore radar sites, and has a sleeker appearance than its predecessors.

Situated roughly between Iceland and Greenland, Höfn Island cannot be attacked from land, and is thus well defended against the possibility of attack from air or sea. Due to the bitterly cold temperatures and constant high winds, no Aries are stationed at the site, though a small number of Serpents from the nearby Arnarson factory are embarked for extra precaution, giving how far away the location is from major Alliance bases.

Present: Assaulted by Deacon Gerard in his 00-Raiser, the base suffered a significant loss in both turreted defenses, as well as its Serpent mobile suits. More important it lost its radar, blinding it to the world beyond its visual scope.
