Ostensibly a deep-water research base, Hudson Point is in reality a far more nefarious installation. Built below the surface of Hudson Bay, the site is little more than a supremely reinforced missile launch facility, packed with dozens of modern nuclear-tipped missiles capable of striking targets both on Earth as well as in space. It is the northern hemisphere equivalent of the Antarctic Caird base (now in possession of the Space Revolutionary Army).

Secrecy is the base’s primary form of defense. Supplies are sent by covert submersibles dropped out of the bottom of civilian-marked cargo ships traveling across the bay, and the base itself is extremely well camouflaged – the defensive emplacements are disguised as natural features on the floor of the bay, as are the tips of the launch silos, and even the monstrous submarine hangar looks little different from the surrounding lakebed.

Aside from a large contingent of amphibious mobile suits, the base is heavily defended by a series of specially-designed maser cannons, providing the firepower of a conventional beam weapon while not being retarded by the presence of water. The missile batteries are capable of firing SUBROCs for attacking surface and aerial targets as well as launching supercavitating torpedoes.

Finally, a small facility has been built within the base to be used as a last-ditch center of operations for the Alliance Supreme Command should both JOSH-A and NORAD-C be lost amid otherwise unthinkable conditions.
