Originally constructed as an outlying mobile suit base about seven hundred miles to the north of Yekaterinburg, the former Human Reform League installation Dolinovodno has been greatly expanded and re-purposed under the Earth Union’s strategic and military realignment in the UC 220s. The position of the base in the near-arctic flatlands west of the Laptev Sea was well suited towards large-scale development and expansion, leading to it becoming the main defense coordination center of Union military forces in Siberia.

Dolinovodno is now dominated by a very large airfield complex, with little more than the hardened mobile suit hangars remaining from the original League base. After clearing away a massive number of trees there is only a partial concourse around the base’s structures, with unpaved (and often frozen) ground along the runways. Defensive emplacements are hidden in subterranean bunkers formerly occupied by League-era turrets – the retractable panels that conceal the batteries are disguised as natural terrain features in and around the base’s territory, with very few actually positioned within the main perimeter as is more common for Union installations. All of the installation’s faculties are carried out from a handful of large structures on either side of the runway, and the blocky League-period hangars are arranged in a U-shape at the southern terminus of the perpendicular airstrip.
