Hidden in the mountains of Sumatra, Helios is a shelter and operating centre for free spirits and Vagabonds. Towards the centre of the mountain range, Helios is not vulnerable by sea, and is difficult to attack by ground, as well.

Openings into the shipyards and hangars are camouflaged by the rock, making them difficult to spot from the air. Most of the base’s sensitive areas are well protected – towards the centre/bottom of the mountain. This includes the Command centre, as well as habitational areas for those staying on base. These areas are connected to the MS hangars, defences, and Shipyards by a series of lifts, and all the areas are interconnected for faster travel.

Sensors are spread around the surrounding area, giving Helios plenty of time to prepare for an assault. The manned defenses do not pop up, but are camouflaged to make picking them off more difficult. The defence is heavily biased towards Anti-Air, since that is the most likely form of assault, however, some defences are in place to help fight off ground troops. Like Pearl Harbour, any current residents are expected to assist.

Most importantly, Helios plays host to an underground HLV silo, that can be used to launch mobile weapons into Space….for a fee.

The base’s airfields extend partially out of the mountain; aircraft landing there must then taxi inside through large doors.
