We've got enough members confirmed for the ground that I think we should start making some plans.
In regards to confirmed ground-pounders, we've got most of our members centered in Europe with that Rhett idiot alone in East Asia for some reason (that's me, FYI) and our test pilots all the way in California, which is fine since they had to start there and they're probably our best pilots at this point.
For our first order of business, I think we should all get an MS team we're happy with and then begin consolidating our money to either start a fleet or build a mine or two in friendly territory. I think we should get a Dobday since they hold a lot of MS and units, though a Gallop also qualified for a fleet flagship.
I like Gaws and Jukons, but I think they have their own problems towards fleet-building. The Gaws are excellent battleships, but they're also our costliest terrestrial ship (we shouldn't even look at Zanzibars in my opinion) and they don't carry a lot of units. A Gaw would be good to consider as a second or third ship. The Jukons are great at stealth and our best tool for naval warfare, but they don't carry a lot of units and stealth isn't as useful when it's with ships that aren't stealthy. They're fairly cheap though.
Anyone else have any ideas?

It all depends on what you want to do, really. Dobdays can't travel across the water this time, so Gallops, Gaws and Jukons are best if you want to do a lot of travelling to areas outside of Europe, Asia and Africa.
I could be wrong about the Dobdays, but you can always ask Ketara if you want to be sure. I know that I'm not TAF, but it's always worth it to have imput from everyone available, right?

We should try to find away to consolidate all of our forces. Our "best" MS pilots actually in space at the moment as brittany is a lvl 2 NT, as is Kuri, ming is a lvl 1 nt. I think if somehow we could use one of our ship captains or something as a transport bitch to get them to earth we could potentially fuck a lot of shit up

Ming has been considering coming to Earth, so we might gain his help, but I don't want to count on it until it happens. Dobdays can't travel across the water this time, so Gallops, Gaws and Jukons are best if you want to do a lot of travelling to areas outside of Europe, Asia and Africa. You make an interesting point. I just asked Ketara and Dobdays CAN'T cross oceans, so Gaws just became viable transport options after all.

And the Space forces will be next to helpless. Okay maybe not but still.
The EFGF has it's pants glued to it's ankles right now. You guys are in a good position to consolidate what you have without having to pull the MAF around.

My MS team will most likely consist of two Accguy and either a Lugan or panzergrenadier squad. Would like a naval fleet at some point, or a TAF officer with a Jukon. And I second the mines idea.

I'd reccomend a Luggun, Chris. Detector units will prove useful in just about every situation, especially when the weather is bad.
This is pretty much good advice for anyone with a lot of ships. Detector units will help you out a lot. Their survivability rate is usually high given that they typically don't get involved with the actual fight. But do be prepared to lose them. Draco, since you're in an artillery suit, you'll probably need one Luggun to act as a spotter for you and the other suits in your team.

I've done some adding of our current budgets and between the ten members of the TAF and the ground-based SS, we have 3283 RP and our weekly paychecks would earn a combined 1300 RP. Here's some suggestions as to how I think we could start building an awesome fleet with just our combined Day 1 money and Week 1 salaries.
#1: One fleet of three Gaws loaded with our PC troops and 608 RP worth of NPCs. #2: Two fleets of three Gallops each with PCs split between them hitting separate targets. #3: One fleet of two Dobdays and two Gallops to take over Europe and East Asia with. #4: One fleet of four Jukons and one Gaw to dominate the seas.
Fleet 1 sounds like the best of the four ideas to me since it guarantees us the best mobility and the use of combined MS, armor, aircraft, infantry, and battleships in battle.
Also, I think we need to pick out some targets. Malta and Southeast Asia HQ look pretty soft to me. Even if we choose not to build a fleet at this time, we could all build up our MS teams and try to take one of these bases. If we can minimize the presence of their infantry, I bet we would have a small chance of taking on of their battleships for our own use.

Right, but to the actual planning from day 1. Isn't that what we were supposed to be discussing?
Day 1: Duels or Ambushes? Post Day 1: Do we VP farm or move to defend the RFs in Africa, a common target with lower defenses.
As a side note for the beginning I think I may be a ground pounder with you guys before moving to space.
My intentions for my advancement: Become a scouting party to map out various bases, being infantry and a Newtype should help with this. Also become a group the EFs fear by taking over a few ships and stashing them at Zeon bases, I have a feeling they won't be prepared for infantry combat quite a few times before they form a fleet, I want to take advantage of that.
Also for build up of power since I am an infantry unit, for the time being I have a 1x Marine, 1x Panzer, 1x Gunship Heli squad. When I get my hands on a sum of 1100 RP I plan to buy a Jukon with 2x Acguys to assist in my covert ops.
Give me a heads up and I'll see if I can scout any targets you mean to attack.

I'm liking the idea of VP farming for the first week or two, then trying to get together (if we haven't done so before then) to take out Malta or one of the resupply / naval fleets. With 4-5 people and 1-2 Gaws or so (and whatever other NPC forces we have at that point) it feels like it shouldn't be too hard to do.
At that point, while some of us take out Malta, the rest can defend Africa as well.

Alright, TAF officer likes the idea of farming. Everyone drop your opinions here. We still have a week before start so we can wait a day or so to see if people side with this idea before breaking to planning for a massive or indivdual duels (or spars?) on day 1.

Day 1 is indeed a good day for farming VP. Gaplant (Ando Shoji) and I have been discussing attacking some of the Feddie PCs in East Asia.

As far as day 1 goes, Draco and I were talking about setting up some group ambushes in East Asia because there is a very limited EFGF presence there (Tin Cod, GM Command Type, and Infantry, I believe). Could probably inflict some punishment to them with that in mind.
