Name: Yuji Takeshi
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Mobile Weapon: Apsalus I
Rank: Oberschutze
Eyes: Green
Hair: Black (short)
Weight: 177 lbs (athletic build)
Height: 5’11”
Physical Description:
When on duty and not working on, or piloting his mobile weapon, Yuji can be found wearing a standard Duchy of Zeon military uniform with proper rank. While occupied with the mobile weapon he’s been assigned to, he is in a standard space/flight suit. Off duty he can be seen in baggy clothing, a relaxing change of pace from the stuffy military uniforms. At all times he wears thin wire framed glasses to correct a slight near-sightedness.
Personality:
Yuji’s overall personality comes across as uncaring. His childhood left him bereft of morals and he’ll do anything to accomplish anything set before him, all the while oblivious (as well as not caring) to how the general populace views his actions.
History:
Born on Side 3 during the year 0060, Yuji was placed in an orphanage as soon as the hospital declared him healthy enough to leave. The reason for this being his un-wed mother had passed away during birth. He stayed in the orphanage for six years where he received some basic education, which was hopefully to be expanded on once he was adopted. That day was to never come. During the summer of 0066, Yuji escaped from the orphanage, and seemingly disappeared into the population. The officials in charge spent weeks searching for him, even scouring the alleyways. But after a month had passed with no sight, or even clue to his whereabouts, the search was called off on the fact that a child would find it hard surviving alone for such a long time.
For tens years Yuji did whatever necessary to survive. Eating scraps thrown out, pick pocketing for extra money, and the rare assault using random trash as a weapon, Yuji supplemented his childhood learning with new lessons that were never meant for him. As the years dragged by, his memories blurred to the point where all he could remember was the street. He couldn’t even remember the date of his birth beyond the year, despite having been told and at the very least wished a happy birthday in the orphanage. At sixteen he was finding it increasingly difficult to find ample food and water, as well as avoid being picked up off the street. A sixteen year old shouldn’t be seen wandering the streets day in and day out without an adult. Add to that a list of charges that was none too short, and every day started to become more trouble than it was worth. Without anywhere to turn, Yuji chose the ZMF military academy.
With only an education up to the level of a six year old, Yuji found himself drowning when it came to the academic tests. His street savvy proved to be no help, and despite his above average scores in the physical exams, he failed the initial entrance exams. Pleading his case on the effects of his life and brandishing the word loyalty multiple times, he finally convinced the instructors to give him a crash course tutor session, and despite a horrible grade on the exams he managed to pass. Despite falsely attesting to his age being eighteen, and barely skimming through on the exams, Yuji entered the military academy with hopes that it would be able to provide and get him off the streets. For two years he continued his service and tutoring sessions, bringing his education up to a respectable level. During those years, the information on him from the orphanage was finally dug up. Threatened with expulsion on the grounds that he had lied to enter the academy, Yuji was surprised when he was instead given the opportunity to join the Military Surveillance Force, better known by its nickname as the Schutzstaffel. The reasoning, as it was later explained to him, was that his loyalty to the Duchy was so great that he not only lied about his age, but struggled against the hardships of his youth. Add to that, his moral-less outlook seemed to be a promising attribute for the future. Amused that his speech about loyalty had once again saved him, Yuji accepted the offer and entered the ranks of the Schutzstaffel. His natural aptitude for piloting later sent him in the direction of the SS’s test korps division where he could be put to use piloting possibly unstable mobile weapons for the Duchy. After the declaration of war, Yuji was sent to Earth to be a pilot for a brand new mobile armor currently in the testing phase.
