Name: James “Jim” Irwin Jr.
Rank: Captain
Aircraft: Gundam GT-4
Age: 33
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 190 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Build: Tall and somewhat thin but muscular, usually sports a well trimmed beard

Personality: Generally easy going with others, Jim possesses a slightly absurdist and cynical view of the world that occasionally leads him to fits of rage or depression. These generally do not last long, however, and he usually presents a calm demeanor to others.
Combat Style: Updated for Gundam GT-4
As a former fighter pilot who was only reluctantly given a mobile suit, Jim likes to play to his strengths. He prefers to stay in Booster mode as much as possible as this form is the closest he can get to piloting a fighter.
History: James Irwin Jr. was born on August 17th UC 0046 in rural North America in what was once Iowa. His father, James Irwin Sr., was a farmer’s farmer: conservative, hardworking, and honest. Not the most successful man around but he always made ends meet and had enough left over to help friends in need. His mother, Mary, was a humble, God-fearing lady, who put family first in everything she did.
Jim was a pretty average kid growing up; usually well behaved but occasionally causing trouble in the small town in which he lived. Farming and everything related to it had never interested Jim, so he was all too happy when his older brother showed interest in following their father’s footsteps and eventually taking over the farm. Not much to do in a farming town if you’re not into farming so Jim would enlist with the Federation shortly after graduating from high school much to his mother’s chagrin.
Not much to do in an army with no enemy as Jim would soon realize as he was shuffled around the various garrisons on Earth, eventually making it into the air corps. He’d always had an interest in flying so it was a natural fit. The variety of moving from place to place and flying kept his interest enough that he always seemed to reenlist when the time came around.
Zeon’s invasion of the Earth would soon bring changes to this easygoing military life, however, as he and fellow pilots would finally face live combat and see comrades killed. The constant presence of death and the fact that he has not spoken with his family since Zeon’s invasion of North America all contribute to Jim’s increasingly cynical view of life and the world in general.
