Caleb generally keeps to himself, as he prefers to go about unnoticed; though he can be tactless if the other party annoys him or does not measure up to his 'standards'. He can be stubborn to the point of being arrogant and often gets into trouble for it. It's no surprise if he ever gets locked up in solitary for insubordination but so far, his piloting skills have kept him in the SAF.

Always takes the role of the aggressor, pushing his opponents to a situation where they are likely to commit mistakes then capitalizes on it quick. Known to take advantage of everything in his surroundings, including his allies, which further alienated him from the rest of his co-pilots. However, his brutal efficiency yields results that overshadow his rather unorthodox maneuvers.
History:
Caleb, the bastard son of Sigurd DeGrau, was born on 24.08.0057. His mother, Ysabel, had kept Sigurd ignorant of the pregnancy, but she passed mid-labor leaving the child to an unknowing father. As a military man, Sigurd did his best to divide his time between raising his unexpected son and military obligations. Caleb was a spirited child that rebelled against convention, but he was a model son in the eyes of Sigurd.
In the middle of the year 0069 their life took a dramatic turn that led Caleb into a life none could have predicted. Sigurd had been assigned to a task force which he briefly related to Caleb in explaining why he would be gone for an extended period. The following week an officer, an acquaintance of Sigurd's that Caleb knew by face alone, visited their home. With him was a yellow envelope that contained the condolences of the Duchy of Zeon for the loss of Sigurd DeGrau.
Caleb was left under the supervision of one of Sigurd’s friends in the military. He became more distant with people years after his father’s incident but what he lacked with social skills, he more than made up for with his intellect and tenacity. At the age of 16, Caleb enlisted in the Zeon Military Academy and scored high enough to qualify for an officer’s position but declined in favor of being in the front lines.

- Caleb initially served as a marine under the MAF through the early space war.
- After the formation of the TAF, Caleb participated in extensive Mobile Suit training and has been assigned to an MS Team. He was sent with the MAF’s drop to Odessa and served in the initial push to take control of Constantinople and Eastern Europe.
- His natural aptitude for mobile suit combat earned him the trust and attention of his superiors and he was assigned a covert op concerning a probable Zeon spy. It was in this operation that Caleb unearthed information concerning the ambush on his father’s convoy.
- Caleb was suddenly reassigned to the SAF Test Pilot Division in Solomon. At the same time, reports came in that several low-ranking Zeon Officers were found dead or went missing.
