Yeah, I wasn't trying to be a killjoy, but I wanted to see if we can glean strategy from Malta as possible simply because it's a prototype for our assault on Belfast potentially.
As I said before, victory chant! cocks cocks cocks...etc all.

U-99 loss made me sad, even if it was disabled it'd be like...lv 5 after the battle which would be epic. That and the fact it had 2 mobile suits that never launched makes me regret wasted RP. Besides that good battle, expected the Gunship to die, but MS loss and the sub is regretful.

Once the Xamel option gets opened up, I'll definitely be switching, since I have a feeling we're going to need support like that, and it's deceptively fast and maneuverable for what it does. Or at least buying one for an MS team option, since I do enjoy the Gouf
And I just watched it in 0083 last night >_>

I was noticing last night (unless I'm mistaken) that Belfast is considered Urban + Coastal (and not Island), so in theory we would be able to make more use of ground units much faster than we did at Malta (since we had to fight to even land the units). A Dobday could be key for an urban siege of Belfast?
And urban guerrilla tactics!

Belfast the base is not an Island, it is, however, on the Island of Ireland.

Right, but according to the base description one would assume they would not be able to stop us from using land troops previously landed on some other random part of Ireland.

I know that. I was just stating that it 'is' on an Island, despite the base not being an Island it's self so it could possibly create problems if the battle writer decides to write it as us crossing over teh water to get to the base.
If you're thinking like that I suggest landing troops in Southern Ireland and advancing north onto the base.

Sounds like a good strategy. I think we should think about Southeast Asia HQ too.

We should definitely pool RP to get a Dobday, and maybe even some Gallops. An effective land fleet would be huge to take on Belfast and Asian installations.

Dobdays are less fragile overall than Gaws, plus even if they can't move, they can still lob shells.

I support a Dobday attack on Belfast. I think we should field a large land force, and make the overture that we are doing a strictly land assault on Belfast, and then have a number of Acguys, and Goggs jump out of the water once their forces are primarily focused on land units. Unlike in the TV show where it was just random aquatic MS popping up, this would be a much stronger attack, especially since the land invasion would definitely have fangs.

Pick up one Dobday, and then another Jukon or two, plus Marine Mobile suits? The feddies wouldn't be able to stand up to the hit. I'd love to be able to take over all of Europe, then move into Asia, and finally hit Antarctica afterwords. If we can completely cause the Feddies to have to constantly react to us, we can dictate the Earth war.

And I just ran the numbers. With the RP we'll get at the end of the week, plus the credit we'd get from Malta, we can buy a War Factory for Malta, and outfit it rather quickly. I mean, we get this built up, that's one less thing we have to worry about in Europe, and gets us a great staging area to move out from.
