September, 2020 AD – German scientist Edward Von Kruger announces discover of the Light centrifuge, a source of clean, nearly perpetual energy. Names the invention: Lichtmacht.
April 2021 – Von Kruger founds Lichtmacht designs, begins manufacture of the device, keeping it’s design secrets tightly guarded. The distribution makes most of Europe energy independent overnight.
2021 – Japan immediately begins importing the design, seeing it as a way to finally solve it’s energy dependence on foreign oil.
- Japan begins integrating Lichtmacht into cybernetic prosthesis.
2022 – United states government, under pressure from large energy corporations, orders Lichtmacht Designs to allow them to study the Lichtmacht to determine it’s safety. Lichtmacht immediately refuses.
- Studies of the device surface, connecting it with Als, Parkinsons disease and Cancer. United states bans Lichtmacht possession and use in U.S. territory.
2023 – The UN, under pressure from the United states congress, also bans the device for it’s member countries. Studies that suggest link to disease are not made available to the public, rumors surface that the studies don’t exist.
2023 – Both Germany and Japan refuse to enforce the ban.
2024- Japan introduces it’s first power independent full Prosthesis.
- N. Korea claims that the prosthesis is to be used for military purposes and threatens Japan.
- Several protests in UN member states, most prominently the United States, over use of Lichtmacht.
2025 – Google, purchases the moon. Later that year, announces plans for a Lunar facility to be built to provide better access to it’s satellites.
-Information that US is utilizing integration of Lichtmacht devices for military purposes sparks a new round of protests.
- US applies more pressure to Germany and Japan to enforce the ban. Simultaneously it also steps up enforcement of illegal Lichtmacht devices.
2026 – US forces gather in Sea of Japan to pressure Japan into enforcing the sanction on Lichtmacht.
- N. Korea military fires upon USS Theodore Roosevelt, sinking it. Claiming it was positioning itself for invasion.
- United states and S. Korean joint force retaliate, invading N. Korea with the S. Koreans demanding unification and the US claiming purpose of liberating the N. Korean people.
- China acts in defense of N. Korea escalating the conflict. Beginning the official start of the 2nd Korean war. Calls US on it’s national debt.
- Japan lends soldiers equipped with state of the art Lichtmacht nanotechnology armor to the South Korean forces.
2028 – nearing it’s defeat, N. Korea fires crude nuclear weapons at Japan, causing widespread nuclear fallout.
- N. Korea is defeated and US forces occupy the capital city Pyongyang. Us forces start and invasion of Mainland China.
- UN sends aid to Japan whom, declares it’s intention to rebuild and clean up it’s homeland. UN also condemns US invasion of China.
- Russia threatens to come to China’s aid if US forces do not withdraw.
- Photos of Lichtmacht machines used by US forces are leaked. Civilians march on the capital building and are fired upon when they do not disperse, 14 adults and 3 children are killed.
- international outcry over US actions lead UN lifting sanctions on Lichtmacht.
2030 – Russia joins the conflict in assistance to China.
2034 – World War 3 begins.
2036 – Lichtmacht designs are leaked by Google, now stationed entirely in space, to the world though the internet.
2040-The world is ravaged by war, all but a few governments collapse and the war effort is continued by private companies trying to protect their interests. The war didn’t end, people just slowly gave up fighting among the ruins of the old world. Most people eke out a living on the leftovers of the war, salvaging equipment or raiding from those that do.
