Located on the picturesque Bornholm island, the eponymous Bornholm Test Centre is both the primary proving ground as well as public face of Dahlgren Waffen und Munitionsfabriken where prospective buyers can arrange for demonstrations of the firm’s state-of-the-art mobile weapons and to arrange purchase orders. Countless Earth Union delegations have come and gone from the site, always to the disappointment of the DWM executives on site at another failed prospect at re-arming the world government.

Because of the large amount of state-of-the-art military hardware on site, the Test Centre is very well defended, and special authorizations had to be taken out with the Earth Union to allow the construction of the facility within their territory. The layout of the base is an irregular eight-sided polygon, with a double-sided beam ablative wall constructed both as a security precaution and to use as a backstop for weapons demonstrations. The defensive gun emplacements are positioned not atop the wall but on the exterior face about two-thirds of the way above the ground, protecting from the possibility of accidental destruction by a wayward beam. The southeast portion of the base runs up alongside the picturesque town of Ronne, which is dominated by DWM-controlled or aligned businesses and makes for a very scenic environment to “wine and dine” various governmental agents who are looking to sample the company’s wares, while a large port facility enables shipment of parts and supplies as well as completed mobile suits. The Bornholm facility is not, however, the firm’s production center, which is located at another non-public installation in Scandinavia.
