Rules HEALING After every engagement, it is almost certain that you will receive some amount of damage. Your healing may take several days, as will be displayed and updated each day. While you are healing, you can make any action other than battling. However, other healthy players may still target you in your weakened state. DEATH Upon dying, you have four options. The first is to pray to your god, if you have one, to revive your character. If they like you enough, then you've nothing to worry about except for the loss of whatever gear others have claimed. The second is creating a new character. If this is done, you basically do what you did to join but your new character will start with your old character's exp. minus 1/3. Also, you lose all gold and start with base items again. But, you can choose a new class path as well and we'll trace it out so that it makes sense with your exp. Thirdly, there are the alchemical, magically infused 'Revive Stones' which can be purchased at the 'Magic Shop.' So long as they are in a character's inventory, that character will be revived automatically upon dying. Also, other characters may use a revive stone on a dead character. Lastly there is the Holy spell 'Resurrection' which allows one to bring another character back from death. If you do not pray or apply for a new character within 5 days of your death, you will have to rejoin and restart at zero. RANDOM ENCOUNTERS Various creatures of menacing stature roam the wilds of Illcara. Be wary, traveller, for they are known to attack. The 'Beasts of Illcara' page shows the various creatures that may attack. PAYDAYS The 1st and 15th of every month will be payday. Your allotted pay is dependant upon your allegiance and whatever other bonuses you may have obtained via skills, items or settlements. BATTLE WRITING If you join the staff as a battle writer, you will be paid $750 rin per battle you successfully write on time. The time we will need you online is between 6pm and 8pm EST each night. If not, your loss and potentially the RPG's loss. ACTIVITY The key to being successful in this RPG is staying active. If you become inactive for more than two weeks (as indicated by the update tracker on your status), then you will receive 5 days to reply. After those 5 days you will automatically be removed from the site without question. You are welcome to rejoin, but you will be back at zero. Staying active entails sending in actions at least once a week or role-playing on the Message Boards at least once a week. ALLEGIANCES There are four basic allegiances you can side with in Illcara. You must side with one and one only. If you wish to change allegiances for whatever reason, email illcara@yahoo.com with the following form filled out: Email Subject: Change Allegiance, (character name) Name of Character: Current Allegiance: New Allegiance: The Accord of Dragons The First Born Alliance that was forged for the War of Those Born became, in the 579th Illcarian Year, the Accord of Dragons. Ruled by the Elder Dragon Consulate, upon which is seated two representatives of each race (their ruler and advisor), the Accord of Dragons is the ruling body of Illcara, managing those left of the Second Born and ensuring Illcara flourishes smoothly and peacefully. Only First Born races, Lycanthari and Draconians can be members of the Accord of Dragons. Members of the Accord start with 2,000 rin (new Accord currency) and earn 250 rin per payday. If an Accord member attacks another Accord member in any form other than sparring, they will immediately be branded a Wanderer. The Shattered Kingdom or The Lesser After the War of Those Born, the remaining Humans were branded by the First Born as 'The Lesser' and left to live in their own towns and villages, but under tight First Born scrutiny. The Humans themselves call their meagre nation 'The Shattered Kingdom', a nation divided and fragmented across Illcara. They live their lives beneath the heels of the Firsts. Only Humans, Lycanthari, Weres and Half-Bloods can be members of the Shattered Kingdom. Members of the Shattered Kingdom start with 1,000 rin and earn 500 rin per payday. If a member of the Shattered Kingdom attacks one of its own in anything other than sparring, they will be exiled as a Nomads or Wanderer. The Nomad Clans or Outsiders Not all Humans chose to bow to the First Born. Many fled after the War of Those Born and managed to form some semblance of unity. The Nomads wander from place to place, ever evading the Accord of Dragons. Few have been captured, but many still survive of their own accord, ever bitter of the supression lain upon their brothers and sisters in the Scattered Kingdoms. For now they are divided into three clans: The Grand Lion Clan, the Winter Wolf Clan and the Brooding Sentinal Clan. The largest of the three is the Grand Lion Clan. Only Humans and Half-Bloods can be members of the Nomad Clans. Members of the Nomad Clans start with 1,500 rin and earn 250 rin per payday. If a member of the Nomad Clans attacks another member of the Clans in any form other than sparring, they will be exiled as a Wanderer. The Wanderers Those adventurers that sought no allegiance whatsoever took to travelling the roads as lone wolves or small groups. They hold fealty to no man or woman and care little of the world's politics, travelling only for their own lives and personal gain. Any race can be a Wanderer. Wanderers start with 1,000 rin and earn 500 rin per payday. |
