Right. Didn’t get as much done this week as I’d like, thanks to Mr. Win32/Virut… but anyways.

All roster stuff -should- be up to date, and some new bases and a new fleet are up in space.

The discussion thread on the forums has been productive, though it seems to be losing steam now; some of the stuff from it will definitely be implemented. I’ve left notes on things as appropriate

Here’s what’s on the table:
-Add some stuff for people to beat on in space <–being worked on, some more space stuff went up tonight
-Clarify and improve death rules to be more consistent
-Make duels do more damage and have a risk of death like they’re actually supposed to <–will get on writers about that
-Make NPCs stronger, either by increasing VP per NPC level, or by increasing total levels <–still under discussion, but will definitely happen
-Rebalance shop prices some more
-Modify teams a bit to make them more useful
-Modify elite units to make them more worth the money
-Don’t increase travel time between planets
-Mabye add a Paypal button to the main site (I am -extremely- iffy about this, as letting players donate opens up a huge can of worms and also some ethical issues)
-Do something to make static defenses better

These are what mostly came up during the discussion. Anyways, I shall see you all tomorrow. FFA should be up later tonight.

Bello all!  Your friendly neighborhood Kale is reporting in on the giant, black chasm (one might even call it a ”hole”) that is his efforts to write an FFA after having not done so in… dear lord… has it been six years since Oblivion?  What the hell are all of us still doing here?

(To give you an indication of how out of it Kale is right now, he actually did just move his cursor to the bottom-right hand of his screen, because he thought he needed to know the exact date for that joke.  We have also replaced his normal coffee with an HP Scanjet 3300C and he hasn’t noticed the difference.)

I went ahead and updated everyone’s status/VP/location to reflect the FFA.  Do check to see if I screwed up anything, and if so, post in the usual spot (unless it ended up helping you out, in which case let’s keep it between us and not let our apparently benevolent dictator know ).  I wanted to get that out of the way, so people could start sending in actions after midnight, if for some reason this beast still hasn’t been put to rest by sundown.  It will be up before morning, of course, which I say mostly because I enjoy making empty promises.  Plus, y’know, it has to be…

For those of you at the Mausoleum right now, I should also explain the Instant Transport stuff again, just incase I forgot something in the original post:

• Anyone listed at the Mausoleum is free to use Instant Transportation to travel anywhere in the solar system they like on Monday (and only on Monday), provided that location isn’t an opposing piece of property.  This will be your entire day’s action; so you cannot fight if you Instant Transport.
• Monday, the Mausoleum will be a “no ambush” zone.  You can duel there, but cannot attack others.  You cannot duel and then use Instant Transport, though.
• If you are at the Mausoleum, and for whatever reason don’t feel like using Instant Transport but do want to travel normally, you’re also welcome to do that.

Wow.  I guess that’s all that really needed to be stated about Instant Transport.

On a more personal note, I haven’t had a chance to reply to any of the two name threads you all put up, but I just wanted to say that they are awesome, and you all are awesome.

Just wanted to let you know, the FFA will be delayed into the week a bit. Marcus wants to take extra time to ensure it’s quality. No big deal as far as I’m concerned, as we’re paused next week anyways.

The Thursday update still isn’t finished; it will be presently, have no fear. Joining will be open all during the pause.

Andrew is working up a list of inactives; once it’s done, it’ll be posted, and those people will have a week to make an action or otherwise contact me before they’re removed.

I’m sorry to have to write this, but an unanticipated family obligation yesterday delayed my work on the FFA. In the interest of not rushing the battle out, I’m going to have to push the posting to tomorrow night at 8pm RPG time (which I believe is CST) some point, if Kale doesn’t succumb to sucky writing syndrome first some time later in the week, provided the three gunshots I just fired into my CPU didn’t hit anything critically important.  I really apologize for holding people up, but it’s taking a bit of effort to clear the old cobwebs.  Fortunately, we’ve got this nice pause, so hopefully I’m not being too much of an inconvenience.
