That little tiny thing there, is our map of Japan. There are 7 provinces (or areas of the map ), the six on the map, and then the northern island, which is just north of Province 1, or Mutsu. That's not on the map because it's an uncivilized and Barbaric country, where few Japanese ever go, and gods and demons still reign. Fun stuff, huh.

Land of barbarians, this place is essentially the movie Princess Mononoke shoved into one nice little island and without Iron Town. See, the Emishi were a historical people, and way back when they actually lived all over Japan, and the Japanese actually kicked them out, though they either couldn't or never really cared to go all the way to Hokkaido to defeat them. The Emishi have even kick-assier horses than the Takeda, and are amazing Horse Archers, but nobody ever really goes there, so nobody really knows much about them. Boats don't even travel there normally, you'd have to buy your own to land on the island.
Locations
Emishi Village - Home to the Emishi, this is just a small village where the remainder of them live out their lives in peace with the forest spirits. There is some reason why the great spirits attack the Japanese and not them, but nobody knows it. As for these people, they're essentially peaceful, I wonder why the Japanese kicked them out.
Great Forest - This is the home of the Forest Spirit, a place where gods still roam the Earth in the shape of giant talking animals. Going in here with a pure intent usually lets you come out alive, though going for the head of the Forest Spirit, which is said to grant amazing powers, usually lets you come out dead, if at all.
