-Game- RPG of the Orient

That little tiny thing there, is our map of Japan. There are 7 provinces (or areas of the map ), the six on the map, and then the northern island, which is just north of Province 1, or Mutsu. That's not on the map because it's an uncivilized and Barbaric country, where few Japanese ever go, and gods and demons still reign. Fun stuff, huh.

Below are a list of the 7 provinces, link to them to read descriptions.

Province 1 - Muttsu

Province 2 - Shinano
Province 3 - Ise
Province 4 - Harima
Province 5 - Shikoku
Province 6 - Honshu
Province 7 - Hokkaido

Province 3 - Ise

The province of the strategically powerful Nobunaga clan, Ise contains the heart of Japanese culture, Kyoto, as well as the heart of Japanese religion, Mt. Hiei. The only real group of people whose holy land isn't here are the Ninja. Somewhat mountainous, somewhat rice-paddy land, somewhat forest, Ise has it all man. Ise has it all.

Locations

Mutsu/Ise Border - One of many borders in the game, a "Border" isn't a location per say, it's just a dividing line about a modern day mile or so thick between the two provinces. It makes it take 2 days to get from one province to another, basically. Note that if the two provinces holding the border are at war, the border will be closed to
non-Samurai of the invading faction, and if you try to cross it otherwise you may be attacked.

Shinano/Ise Border

Ise/Harima Border

Kyoto - The holy city where the Emperor of Japan (the big guy with no power) resides, Kyoto is the largest city in Japan, and quite possibly the coolest. Half of it is castle, where absolutely nobody can go because it's all the Emperors. Once a year they let the common folk in to view the gardens, that's about it.

Mt. Hiei - Just East of Kyoto is Mt. Hiei, a place where the largest monastary in Japan exists. It's almost a monastary city, or monastary community, if you will. Monks from all over go here to kick back and have fun, it's quite the place for Zazen (sitting meditation). The oldest and wisest of Japanese live here too, if you want to know anything.

Tengu Forest - A strange forest inhabited by a very powerful race of bird-men, the Tengu Forest is, according to legend, home of the Tengu Wing, a mighty device that would let the bearer travel any and everywhere in the world in no time at all. Although, nobody has ever gone in there and come out alive...

Yamashiro - The city of the Nobunaga clan, Yamashiro is, unfortunately, located in a swamp. Bad luck for them, but it was actually good luck, as it was the weakness of this small province that led to the overlooking of the Nobunagas, who eventually took control of all of Ise. Note that, while it isn't in the city, there is a port close enough to Yamashiro to count as such.

Location in Yamashiro - Settsu Castle - The Castle of the Yamashiro clan, Settsu is famous for having one single tower that is 10 stories high. How they managed that in a swamp I have no idea. Needless to say, sneaking up on the Nobunaga faction is almost impossible, as the second-highest level is used as both a lighthouse and watchtower. It is said that a Kirin is held captive on the highest tower...
